genuinely mia’s reason for becoming a lawyer is close to being as bad as phoenix’s reason to become a lawyer. ‘ohhh i had to track down my missing mother and restore my family name’ your mother was nowhere near the legal system. she was out there writing children’s books. you found a bunch of dirt on the guy who blackmailed her and seemed to be in the middle of some sort of complicated revenge scheme which does absolutely nothing to find your mother or undo the damage that has been done to your family. mia’s whole deal was like completely bailing on dealing with her family shit materially while also refusing to emotionally distance herself from it. truly the worst of both worlds. i love her. why did she do any of that stuff. she accomplished pretty much nothing.
